Eco Credentials Recycled Fabrics Montane works closely with their fabric suppliers to introduce the latest recycled materials where possible. Performance and longevity are at the heart of their designs, and where these are not compromised, they have integrated recycled fabrics from suppliers into their range. Microfibres Montane believes that committing to quality materials from reputable mills allows products to be as durable as possible, extending their lifespan and lowering their environmental impact by shedding fewer microfibres. Animal Welfare In 2015, Montane became the first brand to implement the Responsible Down Standard. The entire supply chain is inspected by independent, certification bodies annually to guarantee traceability and compliance. PFC’s Montane’s long-term goal is to completely eliminate PFCs from their supply chain and they are working with nominated partners who are trialling new chemistry and continue to monitor the alternatives as they emerge. PVC & Phthalates Phthalates have been linked to disrupting hormone levels as well as being a suspected carcinogen. For this reason, Montane only uses printing inks which are free from PVC and phthalates. Organic Cotton All of Montane’s cotton is sourced in India and their organic cotton t-shirts are made in a factory certified to SA8000 and GOTS. Repair Service If your Montane gear gets damaged, they will always aim to repair items with identical, or similar, materials and restore them to their original performance levels, reducing wastage.
